Biography
Gregory L. DeShields


Gregory L. DeShieldsGreg DeShields native Philadelphian, graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, with an A.S. Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management; and B.S. Degree in Hospitality Management.

Professionally, Greg has been a manager in the hospitality industry for such companies as Hyatt Hotel, Omni Hotels, Sheraton Hotels, Korman Company, General Manager of Philadelphia OIC’s Opportunities Inn: Hospitality Training Institute and currently Director of Industry Relations for Temple University School of Tourism and Hospitality Management

Greg’s Board membership and committee chairs include The School District of Philadelphia High School Academies Programs & Communities in Schools, The Philadelphia Convention & Visitor’s Bureau – Multicultural Affairs Congress, The Greater Philadelphia Restaurant & Purveyors Association, National Board Responsible Hospitality Institute, Pennsylvania Meeting Professional International Education Committee, Chair Fund for Philadelphia, Co-Chair, Chapter President National Association of African Americans in Human Resources Philadelphia Chapter, and members Society of Human Resources Professional and PA Society of Human Resources Professional Diversity Council.

Greg serves as an adjunct instructor for Temple University School of Tourism and Hospitality, Faculty Advisor for Temple University School of Tourism and Hospitality Management National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH) chapter and the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association conducting American Hotel & Lodging Association “Educational Institute” classes; he also conducts Customer Service training workshops.

Greg is an active member of the Council on Hotel & Restaurant Institute Educators, Meeting Planner International, and The American Hotel & Lodging Association. His interests include cars, travel, and most importantly cooking.
